We recently helped a client secure planning approval with no objections for an interesting project in Birmingham for an apartment block residential development.
Our multi-disciplinary team produced a Preliminary Ecological Appraisal, Arboricultural Impact Assessment, Landscape Layout / Masterplan, and Planting Plan as part of the planning submission.
Liaising closely with the project architect and key stakeholders, our landscape team produced an attractive and functional proposal comprising a range of different spaces to address the needs of residents and the local community. Comments from community consultation meetings were taken on board during the design process and helped develop the final details.
The overall landscape scheme comprises an open courtyard, communal garden, perimeter vegetation and hard surfaced terraces. The central open courtyard will be a formal space with wide, linear paths edged by grassed areas or long strips of ornamental shrub beds and flower beds. A square seating area was located within the middle of the courtyard, bound by formal low hedging and ornamental shrub planting.
